Betsy Leighton has a degree in Psychology from Middlebury College, with a concentration in Women’s Studies, and is trained through Spirations Institute as a spiritual mentor. She is currently enrolled in a Sound Healing certificate program, and she practices Pilates and Spacial Dynamics®.
Betsy is passionate about Waldorf education, natural childbirth and breastfeeding. She gave birth to her children at home, including the unintentional, unassisted, yet uncomplicated home birth of her identical twin daughters. Betsy’s birth experiences were the impetus for her research on the spiritual elements of birthing, published in Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction, June 2009; “Spiritual Birth: A Personal Reflection on the Birth of a Spiritual Mentor and an Exploration of Spiritual Birth” and at Mothering.com
